Mohanlal and Vijay will be seen locking horns this October as two most awaited movies of these superstars are gearing up for grand releases. Both stars had joined hands in 'Jilla' few years back.

Mohanlal's big release titled 'Villain' will hit silverscreens in Kerala this Diwali. The season will see Tamil Superstar Vijay's 'Mersel' too joining the fray.

Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai has tweeted about this rare spectacle in the Kerala box office. His tweet reads,

@Mohanlal ‘s #Villain release date will be Oct 19 and it will take on #Vijay’s #Mersal releasing on Oct 18, in the key Kerala market

Mersal, directed by Atlee stars Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menon alongside Vijay. AR Rahman handles the masala entertainer's music department.

'Villain' is directed by B Unnikrishnan. It stars Vishal, Hansika, Srikanth, Raashi Khanna and Manju Warrier in prominent roles. Kannada producer Rockline Venkatesh produces it under the banner of 'Rockline Films'.
