Mammootty backs Jallikattu protests again

Malayalam actor Mammootty has reiterated his stand on the ongoing Jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu. "Kerala can never dream of such a protest. He termed it a 'peaceful protest' unlike the ones Keralites indulge in.

"The stir goes on without a single leader at the helm. Keralites are used to hurling stones at KSRTC buses. This is the only mode of protest we know. Religion, caste and political affiliations couldn't pose hindrance to the unity of Tamils", the actor said at a function in Palakkad.

"Keralites sit safely in their comfort zones and blame protesters. Jallikkattu is an expression of manliness and heroism", he added.

Mammootty had drawn flak for his video message supporting Jallikattu protests. Malayalee netizens had accused him of keeping mum on various issues concerning Kerala, including Mullaperiyar and stray dog menace.
