Behra's posting: Fresh controversy breaks out

(Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 10, 2018, DG): A fresh controversy over the posting of Loknath Behra as state Vigilance chief has broke out on Saturday.

An RTI query has made it clear that Behra's posting had no clearance from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Personnel department.

Loknath Behra, thought to be close to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, was made Vigilance chief last March. He is also the state police chief.

According to rules, any officer who is posted as state Vigilance chief requires permission from the Union Home and Personnel Ministries. This rule was flouted in the case of Loknath Behra.
