Chandy receives another setback from HC

(Kochi, Nov 14, 2017, DG): Transport Minister Thomas Chandy received another setback on Tuesday when the High Court questioned his move to challenge the government action in a court.

His petition challenging the Alappuzha District Collector's report came up for hearing on Tuesday. The court termed it a rare instance.

The Minister who is facing allegations of land encroachment had approached the court, seeking to quash the Alappuzha Collector's report.

Although the court observed that Chandy had filed the petition as a Minister, his advocate Vivek Tankha said that the petition was filed as an individual.

Congress MP and advocate Vivek Tankha is also a facing flak from Kerala Congress leaders for his decision to appear for Chandy in the court.

The embarassed Youth Congress activists had waved black flags at the advocate as a mark of protest on Tuesday morning.
