Heavy polling in Vengara; UDF anxious
 
(Vengara, Oct 11, 2017, DG): Heavy polling has been recorded in the Vengara by election. According to reports, 43% voters have exercised franchise till noon.

The voting which started at a slow pace in the morning gathered momentum afterwards. After 10 AM, long queues appeared before polling booths.

All three fronts pin their hopes at the large turn out. LDF candidate PP Basheer voted along with family. He expressed hope that LDF would sweep the constituency with a good victory.

Meanwhile, the UDF camp had anxious moments as a vigilance probe was announced against former CM Oommen Chandy in the controversial solar case. Leaders Ramesh Chennithala, PK Kunjalikutty and MM Hassan termed it a politically motivated action aimed at the by election.
