Married woman abandons baby, elopes with lover

(Vizhinjam, Feb 9, 2018, DG): A woman abandoned her 11 month old baby in the state to lead a life with her paramour, according to police.

Rosemary (22), a married woman whose husband is working in the Gulf, landed in the police net along with her lover Sajan (27) last day. They were arrested by a team under the leadership of Neyyattinkara DYSP Harikumar.

Last month, Rosemary had left house with her baby pretending to be on the way to hospital. Later, relatives lodged a complaint with the police. It was found in police investigation that both of them were in Thiruvalla.

But, they fled to Tamil Nadu before the police arrived. After this incident, Rosemary started attempts to use the baby inorder to threaten relatives. They were forced to cancel the case through this approach.

But, the search to nab them was strengthened following the woman's act of abandoning her 11 month old baby in a garbage bin at Neyyattinkara. They were arrested from Vizhinjam after a probe based on mobile tower location was launched.

Sajan, a culprit in many criminal cases, had served jail term several times. The duo has been remanded till February 22. They were presented at the Neyyattinkara court today.
