Three stars may be opened, Sudheeran warns govt

(Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 17, 2018, DG):As the government has made changes in the state's liquor policy after the Supreme Court verdict, a stage is set for the opening of three star bars.

According to new guidelines, all panchayaths with a population of more than 10,000 would be considered town areas.

In addition to this, tourist spots also would be counted as urban areas. This would ensure that more bars are re-opened in these areas.

Meanwhile, veteran Congress leader VM Sudheeran has lashed the government's decision and warned of severe backlash in the upcoming Chengannur by polls.
