Relief for LDF govt in Shuhaib murder case
(Kochi, Mar 14, 2018, DG): A division bench of the High Court on Wednesday stayed a single judge bench order which ordered a CBI investigation into the murder of Youth Congress activist Shuhaib.

The ruling LDF government had approached the High Court against the probe saying that the order was passed without considering the good investigation conducted by the State Police.

Earlier, Justice B Kemal Pasha had ordered the CBI investigation after considering the plea filed by slain activist Shihaib's kin. They wanted a detailed probe the CBI.

It was in the early hours of February 13 that Shuhaib succumbed to the injuries on the way to the hospital, after he was brutally hacked the previous night, when he was having tea in a local tea shop.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders have come out against the latest development. They have decided to approach the Supeme Court in the matter.
