(Oct 1, 2016, DG):The tension between India and Pakistan has escalated and citizens of both nations are up in arms to thrash each other in the online space.
In this scenario, a Pakistani girl decided to hit FB to post a moving write up about the troubled relationship between two neighbours.
“I find myself getting increasingly upset at the abuse and hatred tossed from one border to another”, Alizay Jaffer from Islamabad wrote in her post.
The post calls for introspection as she says her country was quick to react when reports of Gujarat riots came in. Do we react when Christians and Hindus are assaulted for having food during the holy month, she asks. She also adds that when we criticise ‘India’s actions in Kashmir’, we conveniently forget how Bangladesh was throttled.
“Their monuments carry our history; our language carries their roots”, she says.
