Ivanka Trump praises President father for U.S. airstrike on Syria

Ivanka Trump is “proud” of her father’s response to the Syrian government’s apparent use of chemical weapons amid the country’s ongoing civil war.

“The times we are living in call for difficult decisions,” the first daughter tweeted Friday morning. “Proud of my father for refusing to accept these horrendous crimes against humanity.”

The U.S. military Thursday evening launched more than 50 missiles at a Syrian airfield believed to be from where the chemical attack was launched.

Trump condemned the attack, accusing Syrian President Bashar Assad and his government of choking “out the lives of helpless men, women and children.”

“It is in the vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons,” Trump said.

Images of the horrific chemical attack dominated front pages as well social media timelines and online news outlets, drawing reactions from major political players, including Ivanka.

“Heartbroken and outraged by the images coming out of Syria following the atrocious chemical attack yesterday,” she tweeted on Tuesday.
