A sparkling gem of an artist

(Dec 23, 2016, DG): Artist Udayan’s brushstrokes render on canvas a truth which sprawls on a plane much above reality and fantasy.

At a time when painting in Kerala goes through a refreshing phase of awakening like never before, this artist stands on a distinct realm, as a force to reckon with.

Activities of Kerala lalithakala akademi and initiatives like binale have contributed to the renewed enthusiasm associated with this art. And Udayan’s paintings have this breath of fresh air written all over it.

Recently, his paintings turned many heads at the painting camp organised by Lalithakala Akademi in Thrissur. He was an executive committee member of Akademi and had organised many endeavours to promote this art. His paintings are reflections of society with social responsibility equally entwined with them.

With distinctiveness stamped all over his works, there is much more to come from the talented artist.
