Are you a working professional? part-timer? freelancer? home based professional? entrepreneur? businessman or businesswoman? Okay, have you ever wanted to pursue any discipline of study/ management courses/ tune up your business or management skills, expertise but just couldn’t do so, because of demanding work or life schedules?

Well, we have got an alternative to that, distance education! And in this blog, we would like to share possibilities of learning, structured management courses at affordable rates through this mode of learning at NGASCE, Mumbai.

The NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education (NGASCE), Mumbai under NMIMS(Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) University (Deemed to be) is indeed the place to go for, your continuing education! NMIMS University was established in the year 1981 and today, it has emerged as one of best institutions, offering quality management education.

It is also NAAC accredited, at 5-star level. Regarding its rankings, it was ranked 34th place by NIRF this year alone. In 2016, it was also awarded 8th rank among B-schools in India, by Outlook India.

Why should one prefer NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education? Simply because efforts are made constantly to influence management practice through education, research, and appropriate interventions. They did turn heads, back when they started offering management programs through distance learning model, to be one of the very few in doing so.

Today this School for Continuing Education offers courses, that can be easily accessed through both computer systems and mobiles. Through this, NGASCE makes their courses, globally accessible, pooling the best study materials, to enhance the learning experience of all those who join here.

Moving on, let's have a look at the course structures and details! After all, they are the soul and lifeline of NGASCE!

A combined variety of Post Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate programs in management, are offered through the distance learning mode, at NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education. An interesting part of their methodology is that over 200 Faculty members overlook the teaching process, for campus and distance learning mode. Just imagine all that dedication!

Now, all of these programs are approved by AICTE- UGC-DEC. And the best part is that these programs cater easily to the needs of working executives, students, fresh graduates, part-timers, and housewives, for that matter.

Another highlight of their distance learning model is the usage of innovative techniques like latest technology so that value-added services are provided to the students, on a timely basis. Here, the students are given high preference and provided with the most relevant and industry updated curriculum.

We are going to be a bit more specific now. To begin with, NGASCE, offers distance mode, management courses at the postgraduate and diploma level. And both of these levels have seven courses, in total, separately. They include Human Resource, Business Management, Financial, Banking, International trade, Marketing and Supply Chain management. The postgraduate and diploma courses are of two and one-year duration, and costs about Rs.76000 and Rs. 41,500, on the whole, respectively.

With regard to admissions to the postgraduate level, any Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University or equivalent degree recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with 50% marks or equivalent recognized by AIU with less than 50% at Graduation and 2 years of work experience, is considered.

And for admissions at the Diploma level, any Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University or equivalent recognized by AIU Or H.S.C and 2 years of work experience Or S.S.C and 3 years of Diploma recognized by AICTE and 2 years of work experience, is considered.

Next on the distance mode, is the Certificate level programs. This level also has seven courses; Digital Marketing, IT, Operations, Project management, Corporate Communications, Business and Wealth management. And these courses go on for six months and costs about Rs. 22,000 in total.

And for admissions at the Certificate level, any graduation degree from any recognized University or equivalent degree recognized by AIU or H.S.C. or S.S.C and 2 years of work experience, is taken into consideration.

Lastly, at the Advanced Certificate level, NGASCE have three courses I,e. Digital Marketing, Operations and Wealth management. Now, these courses are of just eleven months in duration and cost about Rs. 37000, in total.

Overall, when one looks at this whole process and fee structure, it actually sounds reasonable and affordable. And all this, through a structured educational process, definitely gives one the value of the money.

Study Support:

Moving on, the next important segment of any good distance learning model, is the available study support, resources and faculty. And at NGASCE, they really do it in style.

When students are accepted into any of the distance mode management courses, an entire world of academic possibilities opens up for them. A variety of academic resources are made readily available, including study plans, blog and article materials, online lectures, and other learning materials developed by some of the leading academic publications, worldwide.

Over 800 hours of online lectures via WebEx is available and can be downloaded at ease. An interactive Student Zone also functions here. Students can communicate with each other through online two-way interactions and share study materials. They also get access to a digital library, that gives students, access to a variety of online journals (EBSCO, ProQuest, JSTOR) and an entire database of ebooks and other research materials.

Most of the study materials are case-based, application-oriented and industrial related assignments so that students get a chance of the actual work and corporate-setting scenarios.

And of course, at any time, they can connect with a readily available faculty, through a designed Online Query Resolution process. At the same time, a specific call center is also available, for those who wish to have their queries addressed via calls, emails and online chats.

The examinations are usually computer-based and conducted at designated study centers, in different parts of India. Presently, seven regional centers, function in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.

What’s more is that a flexible fee payment system functions at NGASCE! This is one of the most appealing parts of the distance mode programs here. Just think, how many times, have we hesitated and foregone a personal interest in further education, amidst working life, on account of regular finances to manage?

Well, with the option to pay one’s fees in either full or semester wise, there is no need for any hesitation at NGASCE! Students, here, are given an option to pay for their course fees through the EMI mode (3, 6, 9, 12 months), via online payment.

Benefits of Distance Education:

Online and distance learning could be the best option for those, if their personal responsibilities, family and work life, make it difficult to pursue further education for specialized careers and jobs. Specialized courses of study are a great advantage of distance education and learning.

And by default, a flexible schedule and routine is the first benefit of these learning programs. Usually, fixed deadlines are only mandatory with regard to the payment of fees, submitting assignments and examination dates and test results, in such programs. One also gets the benefit of opportune learning and can study at ease through the various, online learning materials. That means, if one has some free time during work, they can just open up their course notes and get studying!

Of course, as it is mentioned in the case of NGASCE, many distance learning programs come at affordable costs, then compared to a full-time course. And time is of the essence, too. Think of the amount of time, one would save, by avoiding all the travels, otherwise required in a regular, full-time course, to and fro to the college. Also, there are lodging or hostel costs, tuition expenses etc that are again avoidable, in case of pursuing distance education programs.

In short, a tailor-made opportunity is possible that helps with availing of jobs, that fits in with the specialized courses of study, leading to greater work opportunities, and better pay.
